Can you guess what these are?

If you guessed my quilt squares from this quilt, you’d be right!. 🙂 I didn’t get as far as I wanted thanks to snow days (When will it end???) and my 8 year-old’s birthday party. (I have no idea how that happened since I just had him last week.)

But, all 12 blocks are finished. All I have left to do is iron and square them up and then I can sew them all together.

New Look!

If you haven’t noticed, I’ve got a new look going on here at Just Quilty, and I’m loving it so far.

I’ve got a lot of work to do to get everything like I want it, but just wanted you to know you’re in the same place, it just has a different look.

I’ve almost finished this quilt top, just two more blocks to piece and then I can sew the whole quilt top. I’m aiming to have it up here on Monday or Tuesday.

Until then, have a happy weekend! 🙂

Cute Quilted Throw Pillow

I had some fabric left over from when I was in my mug rug frenzy, so I thought I’d use it and make a quick quilted throw pillow cover.

I wanted my pillow cover to be 16.5 inches square when done, so used my rotary cutter to cut thirty-six 3.25″ blocks.

Then I put then on my fancy fleece quilt wall-thing (Love it, even if I don’t know what to call it.) so I could make sure I like the lay-out.

Best $5 I’ve Ever Spent on Quilting

I’ve been meaning to get a piece of fleece forever to make myself a quilt wall. (I have no idea if that’s the right term…probaby isn’t.) I finally did and I love it. Can’t believe I’ve been making quilts for 8 years and just now did this. I just bought 2 yards of fleece. (Which is on sale right now, at least down here in Alabama.)

And hung it on my wall behind my sewing machine. I just used plain old push pins (or poke pins as my boys call them) to attach it to the wall. Took me all of about 2 minutes.

I could probably make it look fancier, but I see no real point.

The fabric sticks right to the fleece until you take it off. Fabulous. If you don’t have one of these, you need one, trust me. 🙂
