I finally finished my son’s pinwheel quilt. I definitely didn’t have enough contrast in the pinwheel fabrics, but he loves his trains, so all is well. And of course, all that means is I’m going to have to buy more fabric so I can make another pinwheel quilt that does have enough contrast, darn it. 🙂
If you follow along with my tutorials, be aware that I cut it close with the backing. It works, but there is absolutely no fabric to spare, as far as the width goes. But again, it did work, so all is well. 🙂 And this is the first quilt that I basted on my dining room table, so if you want to see what I did, you’re welcome to have a peek.
I straight line quilted it, because that’s the only way I can quilt that looks halfway decent. I’m getting braver, though, I might try some loops on my next one. I know I could send it to a quilter, but mainly I don’t want to pay someone to quilt my quilts and I love knowing that I did the entire quilt all by myself.
Although I do looooooove the way longarm quilting looks. Love it.
I’ve bought the fabric for my next project and am cutting away. Just wish I had more time!
