Valentine’s will be here soon and if you need a couple of quick, simple, cheap and cheerful projects, well….. here you go!
I bought my kids some little paper doilies so they could make their grandparents Valentines cards and decided to use a few to make a little garland to hang on my mantle. (I hung it on the nails where we hang our Christmas stockings.)
I think it’s whimsical and cute and my 4-year-old told me it was, “Vewee pwetty.”
It took about one minute to make. First, set your sewing machine on a very slow setting. If you try to run it through quickly (as I did the first time) your doily will tear. After adjusting the speed, just slowly feed the doilies through your machine.
I would run one through, pull about 6-7 inches of thread, then feed another one through.
Then if you’re looking for some Valentine card ideas for your kids to make…..
How about a butterfly?
And then of course, timeless construction paper hearts layered on each other.
Forgive their simplicity, but I don’t think there’s anything cuter. And while I love Pinterest and all sorts of craft blogs, and find all sorts of things I want to make (some day) I find it’s the super simple things that we actually end up making and sometime I forget about those simple projects.
Hope you have a Happy Valentines! 🙂
